Help Save The Artz
Greetings Artz N8tion.
My name is DeMarco Howard, Owner and Founder of The Artz as well as Cre8ting Your Imagination, LLC.
Due to rising fears surround the coronavirus pandemic and guidelines from the CDC at the time, we decided that the only responsible option was to postpone our classes to do our part to slow the rate of infection in our community and ease the burden on our medical system. We have listened to the experts and we thought the closure would only last a few weeks but that has changed very quickly.
Since we canceled our classes, new restrictions placed at a county and state-wide level in Texas have added to the uncertainty of when we will be able to safely reopen the studio to the general public. We are not sure when that day will come, but with new news coming every day, it is certainly not a guarantee that we will actually be able to re-open until some time in May.
Since our last day of classes, we have been hard at work trying to secure the means to keep the studio open. Our landlord is still seeking payments during this uncertain time and that puts a huge strain on our business. We have also been told other payments must continue and at a time when we have almost no income coming in, any payments will be crippling.
We have completed the application for SBA disaster loan assistance. While we hope the federal assistance will come through, we don't know when we would receive those funds, if at all.
For now, we have done everything we can to ensure we can survive the huge economic blow to our small business, but we need more help.
This campaign has a goal of $20,000, which would give us working capital for our rent, insurance, loan repayments, utility bills, security system, software fees, and licensing fees. Even after this is over, we will still need time to recover and we are asking our community to help us have a little leeway for when we get back to flying high.
We have integrated our new online platform and will be adding new material soon. We are doing everything we can to ensure our staff has some income throughout the upcoming months.
Other small businesses and millions of people are facing these same challenging times and our hearts go out to everyone who is in this struggle with us.
