I’m starting this GoFundMe for my sister and her family — they have always been there for others, but now find themselves in an incredibly difficult situation and truly need some help.

After Hurricane Ian, their roof was severely damaged. Every time it rained, water would leak inside, and the damage kept getting worse. They had no choice but to replace the roof to protect their home and keep their children safe.

To make things manageable, they enrolled in a Program that was supposed to pause their mortgage payments temporarily while they got back on their feet. The plan was for the missed payments to be added to the back of the loan.

But things didn’t go as expected. Their mortgage company recently denied their request, and now they’ve been told they owe $28,000 by the end of the month or they could lose their home.

They’re absolutely heartbroken and doing everything they can to find a solution, but it’s just too much to handle on their own. My sister has two beautiful children, Josiah (10) and Skyler (7). She has seen her children grow and make many memories in that home, and would be heartbroken if they were to lose it. They’ve always been the kind of people who give what little they have to help others and now they’re the ones who need a helping hand.
