Tammy has been my co-worker for the past year, and she has become one of my dearest friends. She is the person who usually does this sort of thing for someone else, and it is nearly impossible for her to ask others for anything that benefits her. I am doing this for her since she deserves it and truly needs the help. Medically, Tammy hasn't been well since I met her, something she tried to keep hidden for as long as possible. In the past year, she has been hospitalized five times but otherwise comes into work even when she shouldn't and most people likely would not - or could not. She is currently in the hospital again, this time in the critical care unit, and has just learned that she is in total kidney failure (in addition to congestive heart failure, diabetes and other medical conditions she was battling previously). She is going to require dialysis five days per week and it is presently unknown if she will ever be able to return to work. To say that she is stressed and worried is an understatement. She needs to and will apply for whatever benefits she is eligible for, but in the interim needs to keep a roof over her head - and of course the heads of her rescue pups that she worries about more than she does herself. All processes like this take time, and even applying is extremely difficult for her. She desperately needs whatever help we can give her now. If you are able to donate - anything at all will make a difference, it will be appreciated not only by Tammy but by me as well. It has been heartbreaking to see her go through these struggles and I want so much to lessen the burden as much as possible. If you can't donate, please share - just do whatever you can to help this special someone who is usually on the giving side of this type of equation. Thank you so much for reading, donating and/or sharing! Sincerely, Laurie (& Tammy)
