Help Save Sweet Miss Pinky

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read about this Go-Fund me.

On Saturday August 29th, my dog-niece Pinky was visiting our home with her owners Jason & Amy Dick when she began to appear ill and lethargic. Doing what any dedicated pet parents would do, they hopped in the car and headed to the nearest emergency vet clinic. Pinky's condition was severe enough that they pulled her to the back immediately to undergo treatment, instead of waiting the estimated 5 hour wait. After running some blood work it was determined that her red blood cell count was dangerously low. Some x-rays and scans were done and no cancerous growths were found. At this point it was determined she was suffering from an autoimmune disease (IMHA). There she underwent a blood transfusion and remained in the doggy-ER for 24 hours.

Sunday August 30th - Vet clinic advised she was seeing enough signs of improvement to be released and head home to Seattle on medications, which she will need to take the rest of her life.

In the early morning hours of Monday August 31st, she took a turn for the worst and had to head to the doggy-ER again. There she underwent yet another blood transfusion. They advised that she would need to remain for a few days until her medication started to kick in and work to fight off the cells that were killing her red blood cells.

Tuesday September 1st, she had her third blood transfusion. It was after this that doctors concluded the transfusions were not helping and the only thing left to do was Therapeutic Plasma Exchange. With this method they remove plasma from her blood and replace it with a donor plasma and put the blood back into her body. They have stated this method will result in a much higher chance of survival than transfusions alone.

As of today, September 2nd the vet bills are sitting at around $9,000 and could go up, depending upon how many TPE treatments are necessary. This is a very large debt to incur and we'd like to do whatever we can to help Amy & Jason out during these tough times...hence the GoFundMe. Any donation contribution or share is greatly appreciated. Thank you again for taking the time to read this.

We love you Pinky!!
