Help Save Sweaty Buddha

My sister Wendii and I embarked on a remarkable journey when we founded Sweaty Buddha back in August 2015. Our vision was simple yet profound: to introduce our community to a more serene, accepting, and less judgmental form of Hot Yoga. We yearned to create a haven, a sanctuary that offered respite from the frenetic pace of modern life, which often etches its stress upon our weary bodies. Listening to the heartfelt feedback of our cherished students, it's clear that we succeeded in this endeavor.

In a world often marked by divisions and discord, Sweaty Buddha became a haven of purity and radiance. Here, people of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds, and skill levels found a welcoming space to engage in a physical practice renowned for its manifold benefits. Hot Yoga, with its positive impact on physical fitness, emotional well-being, mental clarity, improved sleep, stress reduction, pain relief, and the enhanced union of mind and body, became a transformative force for our community.

Our journey, though, took an unexpected twist. The global pandemic, a shared struggle that swept across the world, left no one untouched. Sweaty Buddha, like so many small businesses, was forced to shutter multiple times to safeguard the health of our students and the wider community. The aftershocks of the pandemic, economic and cultural in nature, made it a Herculean task for our studio to reclaim its former glory. We are proud of our resilience in a field where many have faltered, but it's crucial to note that we did not receive government support or rental relief during these mandated closures. The ripples of these hardships still linger today.

Many of our former students have faced the brunt of the virus and the ensuing inflation. Personally, I have not taken any income from the studio for years. My sole focus has been on sustaining our dedicated teachers and ensuring that the doors remain open for the steadfast practitioners who continue to join us. With hope in our hearts, we await the return of our friends and former fellow yogis.

Today, we are turning to our incredible community to help us raise $90,000 to cover the rent for the next 18 months. We humbly reach out to you, dear friends, for your support as we navigate these turbulent times together. Let's keep our smiles, laughter, and sweat alive, even in the face of these challenges. Your health and happiness remain at the core of our mission. To those planning to return, there's no better time than the present .

We still proudly offer the best yoga studio in the city, affordable prices, and the most dedicated teachers. We miss you and can't wait to welcome you back with open arms!
