HELP SAVE SUNNY ACRES FARM!
Sunny Acres Farm needs our help! This farm has been a staple of our locally sourced farming community since 2022, and they are in financial trouble. Brian (people know him as Sunshine) and Becca have poured every ounce of energy and love that they have into Sunny Acres. Sadly, they are going to have to shut the farm down unless we as a community can come together. Please help save the farm! This farm-to-table business is well known to the fine dining and the farmers market community in Northwest Arkansas. If you have ever been to the Fayetteville or Rogers Farmers Markets, then you know Brian and Becca and their beautiful vegetables! Due to unfortunate circumstances, Sunny Acres Farm needs our help to keep the lights on and the vegetables growing! Help us show them how strong our community really is!
The financial story: The farm has been steadily improving their financial situation every year since they opened with just 40 vegetable beds back in 2022. They more than doubled their sales from 2023 to 2024 and were poised to make a substantial jump in 2025 as well. Every dollar they have made in sales has gone directly back into the business. They are in the process of trying to expand the farm to keep up with demand from the fine dining restaurants in Northwest Arkansas and their CSA vegetable subscriptions. The next step for the business was they landed a grant from the federal government. Due to high demand a major expansion was needed, so they started the process of the first phase. Once the new administration took office in January the grant money they had been promised was paused. Since then they have not received any of the money promised to them. They then tried to get an operation loan to continue the expansion project, but all loans that were not already originated before a certain date have been paused or are “under review” indefinitely. This financial issue has also set back their growing season by over a month, which cuts into their yearly revenue. They are now behind on bills and need capital to continue not only with the expansion and farm operations, but also their living expenses since they reside at the farm. This has absolutely devastated them financially and when it rains it pours. On top of everything, they have hit some bad luck. Both of their farm vehicles are out of commission and need to be repaired in order to continue with deliveries.
Well, now you know the story. They need our help, Northwest Arkansas (and beyond)! In order to continue their farm, they need close to $18,000, but they are in need of at least $4,000 by the end of April, or Sunny Acres is no more! WE CAN’T LET THAT HAPPEN! Farms are the backbone of this country! I know I was brought up to be so very thankful to our farming community, or we would not be able to feed our families!
Brian and Becca started this venture with a dream of becoming a locally grown sustainable farm after Brian graduated in 2021 from a new local farm school called “Center for Arkansas Farms & Foods.” They took that knowledge and started this business! They are the two hardest working individuals that I know, and have put their blood, sweat, and tears into building a sustainable farm from scratch! Please help us stop their dream from dying!
