Help Save Summer: Fight Against FIP
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jada, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help saving my cat, Summer. He was recently diagnosed with FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis)—a once-considered fatal disease that affects cats, especially young ones. It’s caused by a mutation of the feline coronavirus, and without treatment, it’s almost always deadly.
The good news is that there is now a lifesaving antiviral medication that can cure FIP in many cases. The heartbreaking part is that the treatment is very expensive. Even with a discount through my job at a veterinary clinic, I’ve already paid $2,000 out of pocket to begin his treatment. FIP requires 84 consecutive days of daily medication, along with regular vet visits and blood work to monitor progress. We are currently on day 31 of treatment and have a long way to go.
The FIP medication was just recently FDA-approved in the U.S., so it’s not easily accessible or affordable. Each vial can cost hundreds of dollars, and cats typically need multiple doses per day based on their weight and severity of symptoms. By the end of this, the total cost could exceed $5,000.
Every single donation—no matter the amount—brings us one step closer to finishing the treatment and giving Summer a full, healthy life.
If you know me, then you know how important pets are in my life, especially my own. Summer means the world to me and he’s fighting so hard. He’s more than just a pet—he’s my family. Watching him fight through this illness with such strength has been both heartbreaking and inspiring.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your support, love, and kindness.
With deep gratitude,
Jada
