Help Save Sugar Sweet

Hi all! I’m Sarah, the owner of Sugar Sweet Dessert Cafe & Bar. The past year has been absolutely awful for so many reasons. The pandemic, the loss of life, the closing of so many small businesses. We’ve fought as hard as we could. I honestly can say that I have never worked so hard and with my whole heart in my entire life. Yet here we are.  I’m here awake at 2:30 in the morning...pouring over bank statements and trying to think of ways to make this work. This little dessert cafe has been my lifelong dream. I’m so very proud of what it has become...offering people a little (or not so little) slice of comfort during the COVID-19 crisis, delivering cake to doorsteps when families weren’t sure it was safe to come out in public, and bringing cake outside to waiting cars full of kids excited to have a treat. Back in May of 2019 we were able to get a small PPP loan that allowed us to stay open throughout the summer. With the second round of PPP loans I was hopeful that we would be able to participate again. However I have recently learned that we do not qualify. As I write this I keep hitting backspace as I have no idea what the right thing to say is.  I am absolutely embarrassed and terrified to be asking for help. But there it is. I need your help. We need your help. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
