Hi my name is Yalda and I am fundraising for Busra who runs Carlos' Rescue in Turkey.

There are many stray animals in Turkey that are suffering on the streets from hunger and illness with authorities uninterested in helping them. Busra started to take care of stray animals in Ankara, mostly cats with her family for about 5 years ago after she found a little cat hit by a car. Since then, she has been doing her very best to care for stray cats - feed them, get them medical treatment and neuter them.

The rescue is named after Carlos, who she rescued in 2022 and nursed him back to health from FIP. Carlos was very special to Busra and very much loved. Unfortunately Carlos passed away in June 2024 from an unrelated illness but the her rescue sanctuary is named in his memory.

After the cats are better, Busra doesn't return them to the streets. Instead, she takes them to the village where her family live and run a sanctuary where the cats can live happily and safely without the dangers of the city streets. Currently, her family are looking after 70 cats in their sanctuary.

Busra and her family work tirelessly to save these cats with no help whatsoever. I adore cats and look at mine and realise how lucky they are. I want these cats to experience a happy life too. Busra needs funds desperately to continue her vital work. She receives no donations or help and so by setting up this fundraiser, I am hoping she will get the donations she needs so badly.

Medical treatment and food is very expensive in Turkey. Busra and her family will use the funds to rescue stray cats on the streets, paying for food, medicine and medical bills to treat the cats with whatever they need, neutering costs and continuing to build and improve their sanctuary in the country.
