Hi, my name is Nicole, and I am trying to raise a bit more money for my dog, Stella – my best friend, my shadow, and my soul dog.

Stella is a sweet and spirited 9-year-old who was just diagnosed with multiple myeloma- a cancer of the bone and blood. This diagnosis came out of nowhere, and it has been heartbreaking to process. The upside is that this cancer is treatable — with procedures and chemotherapy, she has a strong chance of recovery and many more good years ahead. But the reality is, getting her that care is incredibly expensive.

I’m fortunate to have pet insurance, and I always thought that would be enough. But my policy/plan has a cap for the year and the estimated cost of Stella’s procedures and treatments is expected to exceed that. I’m now facing a lot that I simply can’t cover on my own.

Asking for help isn’t easy. I’ve gone back and forth about starting this because of pride, but the truth is — I can’t let that get in the way of giving Stella the best chance at life. She’s not ready to go. And I’m not ready to lose her.

If you know Stella, you know she’s full of life, love, and goofy charm. She means the world to me. She’s been there for me through everything — the hard days, the heartbreaks, the big milestones. She’s more than a pet. She’s family. She’s home.

I truly believe that with your help, Stella will make it through this. We just need to get her the treatment.
