Help Stanislav Get the Lifesaving Care He Needs
It is with a heavy heart, yet a hopeful spirit, that I’m reaching out to the community for the first time to ask for support in helping a cherished member of my little family — Stanislav, my sweet 1.5-year-old ragdoll baby boy, born on February 11th, 2024.
Since the day he came into this world, Stanislav has shared a beautifully deep bond with his father, Chii, my other beloved cat. Their connection is something truly special — they’ve been inseparable since Stanislav's arrival, and Chii has been a loving, guiding presence in helping him grow into the gentle and affectionate boy he is today.
But now, they both need your help — and so do I.
What Happened
Without warning, Stanislav’s condition took a sudden and heartbreaking turn. One evening, I noticed him acting strangely and quickly realized he was suffering from absence seizures and was clearly in distress. I documented his symptoms and rushed him to the emergency vet.
After a series of tests and treatments, Stanislav was diagnosed with a lifelong reoccurring urinary blockage condition — a serious and potentially fatal medical issue common in male cats. This condition causes a buildup of toxins in the bloodstream, and if not treated immediately, it can lead to kidney failure, severe pain, or even death.
He was immediately hospitalized, catheterized, and stabilized — but this is just the beginning of a long road ahead. This condition requires constant monitoring, prescription medications and diets, follow-ups, and potentially surgery if it recurs.
Then, Disaster Struck Again
On July 4th, we were suddenly evacuated from our home after the building next door collapsed. It was terrifying and traumatic — we had no warning, and I had no idea where we’d go.
Since then, my cats and I have had no stable place to live. Most hotels don’t accept cats, and finding temporary accommodations has been extremely difficult. The constant displacement and stress have taken a toll on all of us — especially my boys, who are sensitive to change and disruption.
Why I’m Asking for Help
I never imagined I’d be in this position, but with two major emergencies hitting at once, I’m overwhelmed — emotionally, physically, and financially.
Between the emergency vet bills, ongoing treatments, prescription diets, and the costs of temporary housing, the situation has become unmanageable.
Stanislav’s initial emergency visit and hospitalization have already totaled over $1,500, and ongoing care is essential to keep him stable and healthy. If his condition worsens again, surgery may be the only option — and I want to be ready to give him every chance at a full, happy life.
How Your Donation Will Help
Every dollar raised will go directly toward:
- Emergency vet and hospitalization costs
- Medications and ongoing treatment
- Follow-up visits and monitoring
- Potential surgery if symptoms return
- Prescription urinary health diet
- Temporary housing where we can stay together safely
How You Can Help
If you’re able to donate anything at all, or even just share this page, it would mean the world to me — and to Stanislav and Chii. Your support, in any form, brings us one step closer to stability, healing, and hope.
I don’t usually ask for help. But today, I truly have no choice.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing with us in this difficult time.
With gratitude,
Bijou, Stanislav & Chii
