Help Save Sonoma County’s Orphaned Fawns

Every spring, tiny, fragile fawns are left completely alone in fields, vineyards, and backyards across Sonoma County. Most are just waiting for mom to return... but the truly orphaned ones — victims of cars, predators, or human accidents — have almost no chance without immediate, expert care.

That’s where Fawn Rescue comes in.
We are Sonoma County’s only licensed nonprofit dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing orphaned, injured, or ill black-tailed fawns. Founded in 1989 by the legendary Marj Davis, we’ve already rescued over 3,000 fawns and successfully returned nearly 1,800 to the wild.

Now we’re taking the next life-changing step.
We are excited to share, with the help of Dr. Grant Patrick, we are in the early stages of building a dedicated hospital and permanent home for Fawn Rescue.

Dr.Patrick has been part of our journey from the very beginning. In the organizations early days, he worked closely with our founder, Marj Davis, providing essential veterinary care to the fawns she
rescued.

This facility will let us:
• Give immediate on-site medical treatment instead of rushing fawns elsewhere
• Handle more rescues during the intense spring peak
• Create safe quarantine and recovery spaces
• Build long-term stability so we never have to turn away a fawn in need

Caring for one fawn costs $1,000–$2,500. We recieve no government funding — every single dollar comes from people like you.

Your gift will directly:
• Buy life-saving formula and medical supplies
• Support the new hospital and permanent facility
• Keep our rehabilitation spaces predator-proof
• Respond quickly to rescue calls throughout Sonoma County
• Send healthy fawns back into the wild where they belong

Even small gifts make a huge difference:
• $25 - One full day of formula for a hungry fawn
• $75 - Essential medical supplies
• $250 - Support veterinary care
• $1,000 - Fully rehabilitate and release one lucky fawn
• Any larger gift - Helps lay the foundation for our future

When we release a healthy young deer back into its natural habitat, it’s more than a rescue — it’s a second chance at life, made possible by compassion and community.

Fawn season is here right now. Please donate today and share this with your Sonoma County friends and family. Together we can protect these babies today and give them a safe home for generations to come.
