Help Save Socks: Emergency Vet Care
Emergency Help Needed for Socks
Hey everyone, I never thought I’d be making a post like this, but I’m reaching out for help.
A few weeks ago, my neighbor was evicted and left their cat behind at the nearby park. She’s been surviving outside ever since, and no one was helping her. I couldn’t let her stay out there alone any longer, so I brought her home. This is my first time ever having a pet, let alone rescuing one.
I named her Socks, and she’s already stolen my heart. But soon after I brought her in, it became clear something was wrong. I rushed her to the vet and found out she has pyometra, a serious and life-threatening uterine infection.
She needs emergency surgery to survive, and the cost is $5,000. I wasn’t prepared for something like this, but I couldn’t turn my back on her. She deserves a second chance after everything she’s been through.
In the meantime, the vet has started her on antibiotics to try to manage the infection, but surgery is still urgently needed. If anyone has experience with this or advice to share, I’d truly appreciate it. I’m learning as I go and just want to do what’s best for her.
I’ve set up a GoFundMe to try and raise what I can for her care. If you’re able to donate or even just share her story, it would mean the world to us.

I’ll keep posting updates and photos as Socks heals.
Thank you all so much for your love and support!
