Hi, my name is Michael Agricola and I am fund raising for my friend Slava, who has a very rare form of cancer DSRCT. He and his family really need your help. He’s just 36 years old and he has two little beautiful kids and a wife who can’t work because she’s always with Slava. Classical treatments are not working and he has one chance for a clinical trial in CA, which will be very expensive due to the sanaviation travel and living in CA while on the treatment. He will have to be out of work for an extended period of time and the treatments may need to be out of pocket. This may be the only option to save his life. Please consider giving. On Thanksgiving of 2021, our dear friend Slava, at age of 34, was diagnosed with Metastatic Stage IV “Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor (DSRCT)”, an extremely rare and aggressive cancer (soft-tissue sarcoma) primarily seen in children and young adults.

Only about 1000 people have been diagnosed with DSRCT since its discovery in 1989.

No one could/can believe it as Slava has been living a very healthy lifestyle, swimming competitively, always being happy and loving life.

Since his diagnosis, Slava has been battling this life-threatening disease with high doses of very aggressive chemotherapy, life threating surgeries (two 14hrs and 18hrs surgeries) and other medical interventions. He’s now on his 24rth cycle of chemotherapy and will face further treatments of chemotherapy, extensive invasive surgery, radiotherapy, and possibly other medical interventions.

Beyond that, there are little to no medical options currently available to treat his disease successfully.

Slava’s chemo treatment combination has had to be changed 4 times now (total of 11 different chemo types) as at certain time those drugs stop working. His current bone marrow has gotten weaker from all the chemotherapy received and is not recovering as fast.

Slava and his family are running out of options and exploring experimental treatments in the United States – NY, OH, CA, and TX and outside of US – Germany, targeting this particular cancer. Given its rarity, these may be the only treatments available to give Slava a fighting chance.

Unfortunately, there is not much financial support within the medical community for research and treatment for this cancer and Slava and his family will have to face the costs of potentially lifesaving treatments. These costs could run to hundreds of thousands of dollars for the medical treatments plus flights fare, hotels, parking, food, etc. Insurance will not cover most of those costs, as the treatments are relatively new, under FDA review and pending approval. Without help, it is unlikely that they will have the resources to find these vital treatments for him.
