Hi, my name's Katie. Simba was born my senior year of high school. He was a kitten born with his brother, Dobby. They remind me a lot of the Yin Yang symbol; they are very similar yet so different. Simba is mischievous while Dobby is timid and shy. My family and I fight so hard to keep Simba inside, but he has always been so curious about the world. Unfortunately, this day was just not in his favor. Simba got loose, and when he came home, he was unable to walk on his back left leg. It seems his rib may be broken, and he had injuries to his face, teeth, and tail. The vet says it looks like he may have been struck by some sort of vehicle, and his tail got stuck under a tire, causing the injury to his tail.

The picture of the estimate is only going to cover exam and X-ray bills (not surgeries and whatever else he may end up needing).

The vet said he is going to need his tail amputated at the very top (so his beautiful, long, fluffy tail will have to go). The amputation is going to be costly. He is unable to control his bile, and as of now, if he does not use the bathroom, he may need to be euthanized, which is the very worst outcome.

I have an almost year-old son. I don’t have this type of money, unfortunately. Simba and my son are so close. Ever since I got pregnant, Simba has not left his side; even in the womb, he was on the outside waiting for him! Simba sleeps next to him when he’s napping to protect him, and when he misses him, he lays in his nursery waiting for my son's arrival.

Please help me save my orange furry furball baby. He’s my family, not just a cat.
