Help Save Sidd
Statement from Sidd's mum, Tracey Ellis.
In November 2021, I lost my forever friend, my darling Border Terrier, Midge, to a suspected brain tumour. It was the most painful, heart-breaking loss, and I wondered if I’d ever get over it. But my beautiful six-year-old Border Terrier, Sidd, with his plucky spirit and endless love and energy, has helped me to keep going, even when I thought I couldn’t go on.

But my beautiful six-year-old Border Terrier, Sidd, with his plucky spirit and endless love and energy, has helped me to keep going, even when I thought I couldn’t go on.
Now, we are utterly broken hearted again because Sidd is gravely ill in hospital, and we do not know what is wrong with him.
On 18th of January, Sidd was admitted to our emergency vet after what seemed to be a tummy bug escalated to haemorrhagic diarrhoea. Sadly, despite initial improvements, he deteriorated more over the next couple of days. This has led to him having X-rays and an abdominal ultrasound to check his gall bladder and organs and a supposed laparoscopy, which, for some reason, was actually open surgery, to look for a blockage and check the integrity of his organs.
Nothing was found on any diagnostics, although we know that his liver enzymes were raised. There is a query around whether he has serious pancreatitis.
Sidd is a very poorly boy. To try to save his young life, he has now been admitted to Paragon Referrals in Wakefield for emergency intervention. I have never been so terrified as I was on the drive there.
Once there, he was rushed into resus as he was vomiting and regurgitating and in a collapsed state.
Unfortunately, Sidd’s medical care has already reached my financial limit. But the previous day, the northern rep from BTW introduced me to someone in the BT community who has been working alongside Border Terrier Welfare to raise funds for poorly BTs , like Sidd.
BTW has now generously offered to cover our costs while I work with Jane to raise funds to cover their outlay. This will allow the vets to formulate a plan to save our precious Sidd’s life. I cannot thank Border Terrier Welfare enough. Without them, Sidd wouldn’t have a chance.
That said, I’m desperately worried, as we are already talking about a substantial amount of money and the estimate at Paragon currently stands at £4000.
I'm a full time carer for my mother who has a terminal illness. She is on oxygen and I have to be available for her 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. With so much emotional stress in my life, Sidd is my rock. He is only young and has never been ill before. I desperately need to make him better so he can come home, where he belongs.

Therefore, we are appealing for your help with Sidd’s vets’ bills and would be so grateful for your support. I can’t face losing another of my babies.
Thank you in advance for your support.
