My name is Willar Wilborn, and I am the proud owner of Sista Shuga Shack 2 LLC, doing business as Shuga's Wings and Things inside the Burnsville Mall. For five years, I have poured my heart and soul into this business, starting it from my own home and naming it after my beloved sister, Shuga, who passed away. As the first in my family to start a business, I am determined to build generational wealth for my children and grandchildren, and to honor my sister’s memory every day.
We are the only soul food restaurant in the area for miles, serving authentic Chicago-style comfort foods. Our journey has not been easy. After nearly closing due to financial struggles, we moved into the Burnsville Mall and began rebuilding. This year, we launched our food truck, which was a blessing—until construction in the mall slowed our business down dramatically. The food truck kept us afloat, but now that the weather has turned cold, we can no longer operate it, and our sales have dropped again.
I am reaching out because so many people have encouraged me to ask for help. These funds will help us keep our doors open by covering rent, paying our dedicated staff, and supporting our vendors until things get better. Your support means everything to me, my family, and our community. Thank you for helping us continue this dream and keep Shuga’s legacy alive.
