Our hearts are heavy as we write this.
We’re reaching out for support for our beloved 5-month-old kitten, Shehzada (Shazu) — the sweetest, most playful little soul who has brought immense love, laughter, and comfort into our lives in such a short time. Shazu was recently diagnosed with FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) — a rare and often fatal disease — along with glaucoma, which has already impacted his vision severely.
He’s just a baby, and yet he’s been so brave through vet visits, painful episodes, and a whirlwind of treatments. One of his eyes is swollen due to high pressure, and the other has dangerously low pressure. His sight is fading, but he still responds to our voices and cuddles into our arms, purring softly — as if telling us he wants to keep fighting.
The treatment for FIP is available, but it is extremely expensive and ongoing. We’ve already spent a great deal on emergency care, bloodwork, and eye pressure testing — and we are now at a point where we can’t do this alone. The medication (GS treatment), vet follow-ups, and supportive care cost thousands of dollars, and we’re doing everything we can to make sure he has a fighting chance.
Shehzada means prince, and to us, he truly is one. He deserves to live a full, happy life — to chase toys, nap in the sunlight, and grow up healthy. Your donation, no matter how small, will go directly to his treatment and recovery. And if you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing his story.
With your help, we can give Shazu the life he’s meant to live.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Sheemal, Shrut, and Vrinda.
