Help save Serafina's Sight
This little lady is Serafina. She had such a tough start in life, and sadly life has dealt her another blow.
Serafina was born in an overcrowded multi-cat home and rescued by Cats Protection in November 2020. Like many strays born in cramped unsanitary conditions, she was riddled with cat flu. Sadly, the virus overwhelmed her immune system and led to her losing an eye. Despite this tough start, Serafina blossomed with one of Boote Home for Cats' foster carers, and she was homed as a happy and confident kitten.
Recently, through no fault of her own, Serafina was returned to the rescue. Because she was so stressed, she was placed almost immediately with one of our fabulous foster families. She had been over-grooming. and her remaining eye was strangely cloudy.
In her foster home, Serafina has been described as perky, and playful, a little sweetheart . She loves treats, toys and lap cuddles. Her skin is even improving a little.
She has visited the vet and sadly they are very concerned about her one remaining eye. Her sight is deteriorating and it is possible that this is the cause of her stress, people and other cats approaching making her jumpy and nervous. The vet has diagnosed her with a sequestrum in her remaining eye. This needs specialist treatment by an eye-vet to improve her sight and stop her losing her eye completely. This treatment has been estimated to cost £2000-£3500.
We fully understand that times are hard for people, at the moment and we know that raising this amount of money is a big ask. Absolutely anything that you could spare to help this little lady keep her remaining eye would be fantastic. We think that she deserves to keep her sight and live out the remaining years of her young life stress-free and happily.
Thank you as always,
