Help Save Scooter from FIP
Hi everyone, my name is Nathan, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and hopeful spirit.
Just a short time ago, my sweet cat Scooter was diagnosed with FIP – Feline Infectious Peritonitis, a disease that used to be considered fatal. Thankfully, there is now a treatment that is giving cats a real chance at life. But as many pet parents know, this treatment comes at a high financial cost — and my partner and I can’t do it alone.
About Scooter
My partner, Josh, and I brought Scooter (F.K.A. Crouton) home less than a month ago from the wonderful people at Get-A-Gato Cafe. He stole our hearts with his extremely friendly and sweet disposition. There is nothing he loves more than being by someone's side.
The Diagnosis
After a week or two of being home with us, we noticed his left eye starting to squint. After multiple vet visits, including a trip to a pet ophthalmologist, we finally pushed for a comprehensive bloodwork panel, where is bloodwork was in line with Ocular FIP
But there is hope. There’s a treatment protocol now available that has saved many cats — and it can save Scooter, too. It involves 84 days of daily medication, regular vet check-ups, and lab monitoring. The total cost is more than I can manage on my own.
Why I’m Asking for Help:
Between the medication, vet visits, bloodwork, and supportive care, the cost is estimated to be around $2000+.
Every dollar helps. Your kindness can help give Scooter the fighting chance they deserve. I am turning to my community to help us. If you feel inclined to donate via Venmo instead feel to send to @Nathan_Schwartz
Thank you in advance.
