Update 3: Thank you for your support. Bluejay has been discharged and is at home. His bladder is back to normal, he still has an infection but he will make a recovery with time.

Update 2: Bluejay is starting to pee a little on his own with the catheter in. This is a good sign but he’s not out of the woods yet. He still has blood showing in his urine so the doctors are going to keep monitoring him and he will need to stay another night or two depending on his condition.

Update 1: I am able to transfer Blue to an overnight stay ER where he will have a vet tech monitor his condition. Thank you, I will provide an another update on Blue’s condition when there’s more.

Hi, my name is Samii. I'm currently sitting outside a pet urgent care dealing with the fact that I might have to put my cat down.

Thursday night, Blue began peeing frequently. I watched him all night until I could take him to the vet in the morning. There, they discovered blood in his urine. From there, I frantically took him to an ER where I was quoted $7,000 to take him in. That wasn't money I had. I looked for an urgent care where I was quoted $4,000, and I took him there believing he would be watched overnight. He needed a catheter since they believed it was kidney stones. His bladder was full and he had a blockage.

Overnight he pulled the catheter out. They had to put the catheter back in, but unfortunately, since I took him in Friday, the urgent care is closed on Sunday. He has to be sent to the ER where I'm expected to pay $2,000 to $6,000 upfront depending on how long he's held. I really don't want to have to let him go and I've been making calls the past two hours. Whatever anyone can give helps. I do have insurance that can reimburse me later. Unfortunately vets and pet ERs dont have payment plans and care credit has already denied me. For some reason, people can pay at a later point but not pets. Any help is appreciated thank you. We're keeping him under care at the urgent care until 4 hours from now where he needs to be transferred and I won't have a choice but to pay.
