My name is Jennifer Vermeer from Bozeman, Mt USA, and I am currently working in Cairo assisting Palestinian refugees who have evacuated Gaza for urgent medical treatment and survival.

Right now, I am helping a remarkable woman named Saida — a 52-year-old Palestinian mother of 10 — who has been evacuated from Northern Gaza to Cairo for emergency cancer treatment.

Saida has been diagnosed with a malignant cancer in her upper jaw. Doctors have told us that surgery must be performed as soon as possible to stop the cancer from spreading. The operation will involve removal of part of her upper jaw followed by reconstructive surgery and extensive aftercare.

Saida was forced to leave behind her husband and most of her children in Northern Gaza. Only her son, Ahmed, was able to accompany her to Cairo so he can care for her during treatment and recovery. Their family home was destroyed during the bombing campaigns, and they have lost nearly everything.

When Saida arrived in Cairo, she came carrying only a plastic bag with her belongings.

Despite unimaginable hardship, Saida remains incredibly strong, kind, and full of faith. But she cannot face this battle alone.

We are urgently trying to raise:

* $15,000 for life-saving cancer surgery

* $5,000 for post-operative care, medications, housing, nutrition, and recovery support
