Help save Rusty

Rusty is our beautiful four year old golden retriever. He is our mate, our middle child, our guard dog, our much loved puppy. But most importantly he is Lawson's best friend.
On Sunday night after a normal run at the local park he collapsed and couldn't get up. He was rushed to the 24hr emergency Vet who informed us that he had heat stroke. We couldn't understand how this happened. It was a warm evening but he had not been at the park for very long and his run wasn't out of the ordinary. Maybe he didn't drink enough water during the day? Maybe he just got too excited and over did it? (He can be pretty silly) Maybe it was our fault? We've since found out that he has an underlying issue with his panting. Dog's cool themselves down by panting and Rusty is unable to pant efficiently enough. Essentially, he was hot and unable to cool himself down.
Rusty was transferred to the Vet Hospital, "Waves" in Beeliar, where he is receiving the very best of care. His condition has improved and physically he is looking okay. However, he is not out of the woods yet.
The specialist Vet's have told us that he needs time, time for his liver start working again, time to get his appetite back, to balance his glucose levels, to rest and let his body recover. More time in the puppy hospital. We are confident that he will recover if he is given this time.
We have set up this page as we have borrowed as much money as we can from the bank. We know that some people may find it crazy but we would prefer to have our puppy home with us than a new bathroom or a family holiday.
We just can't stop now. Not now that it looks like he will recover, not after investing all we have in him.
We are asking our amazing friends and family to help. If everyone we know could donate even a small amount of money we should be able to save him. He's only four years old. He deserves a second chance.
But most importantly we are trying to prevent breaking our little boy's heart. Lawson gets upset even if we leave Rusty with his Uncle Ian to go camping. He misses him, even if it's just a few days. It would just be awful to witness his little heart break if he loses his best mate forever.
So we are asking for a donation towards saving Rusty. We would be forever grateful. You would not only be helping to save our puppy but also the heart break that his death would cause us and our children.
Thank you. Thank you so much.
