My name is Andrew Maiorana and you might remember that Jen and I were in Nepal during the massive 2015 earthquake. After we safely got out of there we partnered with our trekking company to raise money and distribute aid by launching SaveRuralNepal.org. Partnering with our trekking company, who has deep knowledge of the mountains and connections of supplies and people and with your support we delivered aid to over 1k people and rebuilt a school that is still standing strong today.
This flash flood natural disaster is worse in many ways. After an earthquake you can craft shelter, salvage gas and food and supplies. Perhaps even medicine. With this flash flood, it’s is all gone. The numbers of people impacted will surely increase like they did in 2015.
We're relaunching SaveRuralNepal to provide immediate support for rural communities affected by the flash floods.
Our Mission:
Save Rural Nepal's official Nepali NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) non-profit, funded by individuals across the globe, contributing positively to the societies that make up rural Nepal. We take a holistic approach to uplift communities where they need help, we take action through specific projects that involve natural disaster recovery, children welfare & schools, skill building opportunities for women, and environmental awareness.
I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Save Rural Nepal. GoFundMe proceeds will be received by me in the United States and transferred to Nepal to fund Aug 2026 flood-relief activities. I will maintain records of all funds received, transfers and distributions. Donations are not tax exempted unfortunately.
In 2015 we organized immediate aid relief and school rebuilding projects after the April 25th, 2015 earthquake. You can learn more about this and more at SaveRuralNepal.org
