Help save Rupert from being put to sleep

Hello, meet Rupert….I can honestly say, hand on heart, that he is one of the sweetest, kindest, most cuddly companions you could ever ask for in life.

i first met Rupert when he was 13 weeks old, I was struggling with mobility whilst recovering from a fractured spine and I needed a new best friend. Rupert was a timid boy who already showed signs of trauma in his little life and I knew that I needed to love him, and to be loved by him.

from that first day he was my side kick, it was just me and him- in a travel lodge with carers coming in to assist me and him giving me that little bit of encouragement to get me walking again, we set daily goals and WE GOT THERE, together!

since then Rupert has been my best friend, he is the only thing in my life that I have never questioned his intentions or loyalty or love, and for this he just means the world to me!

he’s a friendly boy who is bossed around by his ‘little-big brother’ vinnie (a rescued frenchie).

on tuesday 24th June the police seized Rupert believing him to be a banned breed, they say he is a pitbull and are threatening criminal charges for owning a ‘fighting dog’ unless I sign him over to be destroyed. This is NOT AN option.

rupert will be struggling in kennels, and the police have tried to use this as emotional blackmail for me to give up on him.

the cost of kennels is £40 per night (already at £320) and of course the cost of fighting his case, neutering and exemption fees.

I suffer with complex PTSD and severe anxiety and this situation is not only affecting my mental health, but his little big brother is also struggling with him not around and I just know that my poor sweet boy is missing us just as much as I’m missing him every minute of every day that we are apart. But I REFUSE to sign his death warrant!!!

please if anyone could help financially we would appreciate it so much, and I would also welcome any practical help and support that people can offer. Any Solicitor’s who may be able to assist.
