Rosie’s Emergency Surgery — Liyah’s Best Friend Needs Urgent Help
Hi everyone,
I never imagined I would be in a position where I needed to ask for help like this, but I am doing everything I can to save our sweet Rosie.
Rosie is my daughter Liyah’s first pet — and truly her best friend. We adopted Rosie during a very difficult time in our lives. After leaving a domestic violence situation and finally finding safety with a restraining order in place, Liyah formed an incredible bond with Rosie. She helped bring comfort, stability, and happiness back into my daughter’s life when she needed it most. Their connection is something I can’t fully put into words. Rosie is family to us.
Rosie was treated at BluePearl Emergency Veterinary Hospital after ingesting something that veterinarians believe may be causing an intestinal blockage. She has since been discharged, but she is not acting like herself and her condition is extremely concerning.
Rosie has now gone nearly 48 hours without eating, drinking, or having a bowel movement. We urgently need to continue diagnostics and treatment because time is critical when a blockage is suspected. Waiting any longer could become life-threatening.
We have been quoted approximately $800 for diagnostics to confirm the blockage and determine next steps. If surgery is required, we have been quoted approximately $5,000 for the procedure and care.
I have applied for ScratchPay and CareCredit but was denied due to financial hardship following our domestic violence situation, which severely impacted my credit and savings. I work two jobs and own a small cleaning business, and I am doing everything I can to provide for my daughter and our home. I am fully willing to set up payment arrangements and personally repay any large assistance over time if needed.
This is incredibly hard for me to ask, but I cannot lose Rosie. She means everything to Liyah, especially after everything she has already endured. Losing her would be devastating and would undo so much healing she has worked so hard to achieve.
If you are able to donate, share, or even send prayers and support, it would mean the world to our family. Every moment matters right now, and every bit of help brings Rosie closer to getting the lifesaving care she needs.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any support you can give.
With gratitude,
Caitlyn & Liyah
