Help Us Save Romeo: A Race Against Time
9 years ago, our family found a light in the form of a sweet cat we named Romeo, adopted from the Taunton Animal Shelter. He’s been a cherished part of our family ever since.
On Wed, Nov 19th, our world stopped. Romeo was rushed to the emergency room in the middle of the night in critical condition. What doctors initially suspected was heart failure turned out to be a severe, life-threatening case of anaphylaxis.
For 2 days, Romeo has fought with incredible strength, but his little body is struggling. The allergic reaction caused dangerous fluid buildup in his lungs & severe dehydration. He's been in an oxygen chamber, receiving intensive, round-the-clock care. The progress was slow, to protect his fragile state.
Just an hour ago, the situation escalated. Romeo went into severe distress. The veterinary team gave us 1 option: intubation to relieve the overwhelming stress his body is under. He is currently fighting for his life on a ventilator.
We are now facing a devastating financial reality.
The emergency bills are already nearing $7,000, & that was before this critical escalation. Intubation adds significantly to the cost. If he only needs the ventilator for a short time, the total will be close to $7,000. If he requires longer, the final bill could reach $10,000 or more.
The emergency vet requires payment in full; there are no payment plans. We refuse to consider putting Romeo to sleep simply because we cannot afford his care. He is family, & he deserves every chance to live a full life.
This is our last resort, & we are asking for your urgent help.
Please, if you can find it in your heart to help us save Romeo, we would be eternally grateful.
Every dollar helps us cover this crushing medical burden & gives Romeo the chance he deserves.
Donate: Any amount you can contribute goes directly to his emergency medical care.
Share: If you can't donate, please share his story with everyone you know. Spreading the word is just as vital.
We promise to provide frequent, transparent updates on Romeo’s progress. Your support means the world to us as we navigate this crisis.
Thank you for helping us bring our sweet boy home.
