I'm writing this message on behalf of my mother, Veronica, whose beloved brother—my uncle—has just suffered a massive heart attack in Guatemala. Doctors have confirmed that he urgently needs open heart surgery to survive. Unfortunately, in Guatemala, health care is entirely out-of-pocket, and the costs are far beyond what our family can afford alone.
