Help save Ragdoll Breeding cattery Of Fabi Design GB

Hello, my name is Rachel Bragg, and I'm reaching out to raise funds for 'Of Fabi Design*GB', a beloved ragdoll breeding cattery founded by my dear friend and ethical breeder Tatjana Sliziene. Tragically, Tatjana has been dealing with one of the most devastating challenges a breeder can encounter—an outbreak of a lethal virus that has impacted her cats and kittens, resulting in heartbreaking fatalities.
The virus is is Feline Panleukopenia Virus (FPV), commonly known as Parvovirus. This insidious and highly contagious disease attacks the immune system of cats and kittens, leading to an alarmingly high mortality rate. The symptoms are severe, and it has been absolutely heartbreaking for Tatjana and her family to lose seven cherished kittens to this virus, despite them being vaccinated. Tragically, all of these kittens were about to join their new families and were ready to bring a lifetime of joy and happiness. They had been microchipped, registered, and their pedigree certificates issued, but this unforgiving virus took them and Tatjana could do nothing to prevent it.
Tatjana has devoted herself tirelessly to saving the remaining kittens, administering treatment to all her cats and ensuring her home is as safe as possible. She has had to sacrifice many of hers and her family's belongings including sofas, carpets, cat trees, children's toys and much more to try and eradicate the disease from her home.
Tatjana has also been unable to work during this difficult time because of being at the vets and the animal hospital so much, and because of the time that was needed to monitor the remaining kittens and cats and the time to disinfect the house continously.
This effort has taken a significant emotional and financial toll on Tatjana and her family. The veterinary bills have risen to catastrophic levels, far exceeding what we as breeders can afford to recover from, and this is without taking into account loss of income. Tatjana does have breeders insurance but as I'm sure the breeders reading this know, this is very different to pet insurance and there is only 1 level of cover which is capped at a very low amount. Tatjana has claimed on insurance but the contribution from the provider barely scratches the surface of the colossal expenses.
If Of Fabi Design is to survive, Tatjana will temporarily suspend breeding activities. This will be to ensure the complete eradication of the virus and the restoration of a safe breeding environment. This pause will also allow her to prioritize her mental well-being and stabilize her financial situation. During this time, she will focus on providing necessary treatment and maintaining the highest standard of care for her cats.
I am fundraising for Tatjana for several important reasons. Firstly, she is an incredibly dedicated breeder, and it would be a tragic loss for her to have to close her cattery. Secondly, the reality of facing an outbreak like FPV can so easily happen to any breeder, and it is a profoundly distressing and exhausting experience that we wouldn't wish upon anyone.
The silence surrounding contagious viruses in breeding circles is deafening, and it's devastating. Breeders facing these challenges deserve our unwavering support, not isolation. Fear and stigma force many to suffer alone, sometimes even closing their doors. This has to change.
In a world demanding transparency, we must share our struggles as openly as our triumphs. Learning and growing together depends on it. Asking for help is not a weakness; it's a testament to our strength. Compassion should be the cornerstone of our community. I know many of you feel this way, and together, we can build a network of unwavering support.
Imagine a community where breeders lift each other up during crises, offering practical, emotional and financial support, even through small acts of kindness and generosity.
I have had the privilege of working alongside Tatjana, showing cats with her, visiting her home, and raising one of her remarkable cats in my own cattery. I can personally attest to her deep love and care for her cats and kittens; their well-being is her utmost priority. Her passion for the Ragdoll breed is truly inspiring, and her dedication to showing and improving upon her lines is exceptional.
Beyond her breeding, Tatjana is a beacon of kindness and selflessness. She always finds time to offer guidance and support to others, regardless of her own challenges.
It's time to support Tatjana. Let's show her the strength of our community by taking action. We're reaching out to ethical breeders worldwide who understand the realities of this situation, and I urge you to join us. Let's stand together, proud of our commitment to one another. Let's help each other overcome adversity. Let's make a real difference and support a valued breeder. Let's help recover the damages, and let's save Of Fabi Design*GB
Every donation, regardless of size, matters. Please contribute what you can. Your generosity will be hugely appreciated. If you cannot donate, but you support our cause, we would be very grateful if you would share this go fund me page.
