Hi, my name is Zydre. I’m fundraising for my beloved cat Rafaelo, who was the victim of a hit‑and‑run accident on 27 September in Skelmersdale. Somehow my poor boy dragged himself home — covered in blood and coughing. Because it was Saturday, I rushed him to the emergency vet believing they would help him. I didn’t realise that without being able to afford the treatment, an animal can be left suffering. The vet confirmed that Rafaelo’s jaw is split apart and his lungs are bruised with some internal bleeding. They told me that because he’s young he could survive and live a full life after jaw surgery — but he needs that surgery urgently. The initial assessment and strong painkillers already cost £380, which I paid on my last credit card.
I’m a final‑year children’s student nurse, a mother of two, surviving on Universal Credit while doing full‑time placement at Ormskirk Hospital and looking for work. I have no one to borrow from; my credit card is maxed. GoFundMe is my last hope. Without help, Rafaelo will have to be put to sleep to spare him suffering — when he actually has a good chance of recovery if treated. Any donation, no matter how small, would help me save Rafaelo’s life and give my children back their gentle friend. Even sharing this page would mean so much.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
With love,
Zydre and children
