My name is Vikki, and I’ve spent years working in animal shelters/ animal ER’ helping care for pets when they needed it. Today, I’m the one who needs help—my beloved dog Quincy is very ill.
Quincy suddenly began vomiting throughout the day yesterday. What started as something I thought was small turned into something serious—suspected pancreatitis or possibly a foreign body lodged in his stomach. He’s now hospitalized, has a nasogastric (NG) tube in place (a tube from his nose to his stomach), and had 700ml of fluid drained from his stomach. He’s on IV fluids and anti-nausea medications while the vet team works around the clock to make him comfortable. Depending on how he does overnight will determine if he needs surgery or not. My estimate if $3500-$5500. I can provide the estimate to anyone who would like to see it.
This came out of nowhere, and I was recently in between jobs, so I wasn’t financially prepared for a medical emergency of this scale. It’s breaking my heart to watch him go through this—and it’s humbling and hard to ask—but I need help to give Quincy the care he needs.
Quincy means the world to me.
Thank you for reading, caring, and for anything you’re able to give or share. ❤️
With gratitude,
Vikki
