Puppy is our ferret, and he’s truly one of a kind. He acts just like a little pup—playing hide and seek, collecting treasures under the couch, and making everyone who meets him fall in love. Puppy is more than a pet; he’s Ed’s emotional support animal and best friend, especially as Ed faces stage 3 lung cancer. They do everything together at home, from sharing ice cream to cuddling and watching TV. Puppy’s playful spirit brings comfort and happiness to Ed and to all our friends.

Recently, Puppy developed a tumor under his arm. He’s aggravated it so much that it’s become raw and bleeding. We rushed him to the ER, where they performed a biopsy and told us the heartbreaking news: Puppy has cancer. We were devastated. The ER gave us enough medication for about three weeks, but Puppy needs ongoing care—regular vet visits, monitoring, and surgery to remove the tumor. As much as he’s struggling, Puppy is still as spunky and loving as the day we brought him home.

Our family is facing tough times. I recently lost my job, and we no longer qualify for our apartment, so we’re living with roommates. Ed is on SSI, and we simply can’t afford the care Puppy needs. Puppy means the world to Ed, and he still has so much life and love to give. With your help, we can find a vet who will take good care of him, cover his medications, and hopefully save his life.
