Before Super Bowl Sunday, my brother took his beloved dog, Puma, to the groomer. While preparing for the appointment, Puma jumped off the grooming table and fractured both of his front legs. The family hoped that with casts and care, Puma would heal, but their challenges were just beginning. On February 24, tragedy struck again when my sister-in-law suffered a sudden stroke at their child's soccer game and passed away. Now, amidst the heartbreak, three grieving children and their loyal dog wait by the door, hoping for her return.

Recently, my brother took Puma back to the vet and learned that surgery was urgently needed to save his legs. With the loss of a second income and mounting expenses, my brother is facing the impossible decision of whether he can afford to save Puma. When he shared this with his children, their pleas were heartbreaking: 'No, no, just put it on a card...sell the car...we have to save Puma.'

Under these unimaginable circumstances, I feel compelled to help. My own family is struggling, as my husband is battling stage 4 colon cancer, but I cannot stand by while my nephews and niece risk losing their beloved dog after already losing their mother. I am asking for help to pay for Puma's surgery and medications, so these children can have comfort and hope during this painful time.
