Polly is almost 5 years old and is a full member of our family – our little “princess.” She came to Canada with us from Poland and has captivated everyone with her beautiful brown eyes since the first day.

She is a wonderful companion for our three sons: she runs, plays, and chases them until she is completely exhausted, and in the evenings she demands cuddles and pets – a little lady and princess, yet she loves rolling in anything messy. Polly loves tug-of-war and energetic games, bringing laughter and joy into our home every day.

Polly’s eye problems started in June. Initially, the vet prescribed antibiotics, which helped. Later, due to red eyes, she received steroids – the condition improved.

Unfortunately, after the steroids, Polly had to take antibiotics again from the vet. We administered them from Saturday, but by Monday her condition worsened drastically – she was screaming in pain and blood came from her eye. We immediately took her to the vet, who referred us to an ophthalmologist – Dr. Travis Strong at Toronto Animal Eye Clinic.

Currently, Polly is on another course of antibiotics prescribed by the ophthalmologist because we cannot afford the surgery. Surgery is the only way to save her eye and prevent severe complications, including permanent vision loss.

We are a family of five, and the surgery cost of 7,400 CAD is beyond our means. Polly is like a child to us – our joy, playmate, and beloved “princess.”
