If you're like me, you hate having to ask for help. You work hard, you make sacrifices and you do it the best you can, even if it means doing it alone. As a single working parent who is raising three kids, I do a decent job at saving my funds and living within my means. However, the expense to save Plagg's life has quickly outmatched my bank account. How far would you go, to save one of your own? For him and for my daughter, I am dropping my pride and asking for help in any way it can be given.
A member of our family, a very important member, is fighting for their life right now. A powerful emotional support for our whole household, Plagg is often launching at whoever walks in the door so he can smother them in love. Loud purrs, head bumps and licks are this boy's love language, so when the lethargy set in - we knew something was wrong immediately.
Plagg is currently receiving emergency care to unblock his uretha (a cost of roughly $1,500). Because of the catheter they will have to put in for 48 hours, this also means he will need to be hospitalized over the weekend at the emergency vet (anywhere from $1,800-$2,200). Without this procedure and the follow up care, Plagg would not make it.
I know some folks will look at this and think it's ridiculous, that it's just a cat, but Plagg was rescued at a time when trauma recovery was fresh, and he undoubtedly helped to save my daughter. Without him, I'm not sure she would have made it, either.
I know times are tough for everyone, but literally every little bit helps us to save Plagg, and by extension my daughter. I am willing to pay folks back, to do whatever it takes to keep this boy earth side.
I appreciate you even taking the time to look, or to share.
