Help Us Save Penelope ❤️
Hi everyone,
On Sunday, June 23rd, 2025, we rushed our family cat, Penelope, to the vet after noticing she had stopped eating and drinking, and her eyes had taken on a slight yellow tint. We could have never imagined what would come next—Penelope was diagnosed with liver failure, and the vet told us that her other organs were slowly starting to shut down.
This news has devastated our family. We weren’t prepared for this, emotionally or financially. We’ve already been dealing with my sister’s severe skin condition, which has been an ongoing and costly battle. Now, facing Penelope’s critical situation on top of that has added an overwhelming amount of stress, especially for my sister.
Penelope isn’t just our family cat—she’s been with us for 8 wonderful years and shares a truly unique bond with my sister, Jenny. Their connection is something special. Penelope has always been a source of comfort for Jenny, helping her manage her social anxiety and regulate her emotions. She’s been so much more than a pet—she’s been Jenny’s safe space, her emotional support, and her best friend.
Right now, Penelope is fighting for her life. The vet has recommended a blood transfusion as her next chance for survival. She’s been hospitalized, receiving IV fluids and nutrients since she’s too weak to eat on her own. Her skin has turned yellow, and each day that passes without treatment makes her condition worse.
We want to give Penelope every chance to pull through, but we can’t do it alone. We don’t come from money, and our family isn’t in a position to help. My sister’s income has been going towards her skin treatments, and most of my savings were recently spent renovating our mom’s apartment in Colombia.
We are independent young women trying our best, but right now, we need help.
Any contribution—no matter how small—would mean the world to us and would go directly towards Penelope’s life-saving care. If you’re not able to donate, sharing this campaign would also help so much.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for reading and for any support you can give. We’ll be updating this page with photos of Penelope and her progress in the coming days.
