Hi everyone, my name is Jed Fasso. While filming my feature Beyond Borders – Patagonia, our team hiked and travelled through some of the most remote coastlines in Northern Patagonia and Chiloé — beaches, fjords, river mouths and cliff-lined shores that almost no one ever reaches. These places are among the most breathtaking landscapes left on Earth. But what we found was impossible to ignore.

Coastlines so remote that no one is responsible for cleaning them — so no one ever does.

And with each tide, more arrives. Every storm buries what’s already there. Season after season, the damage grows.

This fundraiser exists because these places won’t survive without intervention.

We are partnering with a local community group, Red Costera Chiloé–Patagonia, to support a long-term, community-led initiative to clean the beaches, rivers and waterways we passed through, and to prevent future waste build-up across these fragile coastal ecosystems.

In addition to this on-the-ground work, a portion of the funds raised will also support Rewilding Chile, a foundation working across Patagonia on national park creation, wildlife protection, and large-scale ecosystem restoration. Their mission aligns deeply with the heart of our film, and we’re proud to contribute to their conservation efforts alongside our local clean-up initiative.

Hire and equip local community members who know these areas better than anyone

Remove marine debris, plastics, nets and waste from river mouths before they reach the sea

Fund transport and safe disposal for rubbish collected in isolated areas

Support community education to reduce waste entering these waterways in the first place

Contribute to Rewilding Chile’s work restoring and protecting Patagonia’s ecosystems
