Help SAVE Pancake from Euthanasia
Donation protected
Meet Pancake. Pancake is a 4 year old white and tabby male cat. He was brought to the shelter after his family moved away. Lately the shelter staff have noticed some very concerning symptoms. Symptoms include loss of appetite, diarrhea, vomiting, and lethargy. Because the shelter can’t afford his medical care, they scheduled him to be euthanized on Saturday, March 15th.
We took Pancake to the vet to get a diagnosis.. They performed a physical exam, then took X-rays and blood work. They ran a SNAP FPL test also. The X-rays ruled out several conditions. They wanted to perform an ultrasound at this point. After a few hours, he was diagnosed with feline pancreatitis with a pancreatic abscess. The vet recommended a surgery to remove the abscess. He also needs to be hospitalized for a few days and given IV fluids to manage pain and discomfort. He will also be given anti nausea medicine while we wait. The vet bill includes the surgery to remove the abscess and drain puss, hospitalization, anti nausea medicine, post surgery care at the animal hospital, and the initial vet visit/ diagnosis. We will attempt to cover anything over 2,500$ ourselves.
If we don’t raise enough, sadly Pancake will be euthanized as scheduled on Saturday, March 15th. Thank you for considering a donation to save Pancake!
