Help Save Panagia Church in Toronto

It has been a church, safe haven and home of comfort to thousands of Greek Orthodox Christians over the many years it has been nestled on 136 Sorauren Ave in Toronto. Panagia has meant something special to each and every one of us in its own special way; thousands of Greek Orthodox Christians have got married in this church and shared in the sacrament of marriage under the eyes of God here. Thousands of Greek Orthodox Christians have said their temporary "goodbyes" to their closest loved ones at funerals held at this church of Panagia. So many have baptised their babies here and brought new followers of the Greek Orthodox faith to be blessed and proclaimed as such in this very church. Not to mention the countless yiortes, Christmas, and Easters, the uncountable Sundays that we have attended service in this Holy cathedral and have each lifted our prayers to God, begged and thanked. Personally, my parents were married in this church and every year on August 15th "stis Panagia's", I attend this church to honour our Panagia and to honour the eternal memory of my yiayia Panayiota. So yes, I do have a vested personal interest in trying my absolute best to attempt to save our church and if I cannot succeed, at least I will know and be able to say that I tried, that I did do something to the best of my ability as a follower and believer of our faith.
