Hi everyone,
For nearly 20 years, Pam’s Kitchen has been more than a restaurant; it’s been a vibrant gathering place, a source of incredible Caribbean food, and a cultural home for so many in Seattle. Pam has poured her heart, her savings, and countless hours into building this space for our community. Now it’s our turn to show up for her.
I’ve been a longtime customer of Pam’s Kitchen. Recently I learned that Pam is facing serious financial challenges that threaten the future of this beloved restaurant. With her blessing, I’m helping organize this fundraiser so we can support her directly.
Below is a message from Pam.

Dear friends, family, and community,
I never imagined I would be writing something like this.
For the past year, I have been doing everything in my power to keep my restaurant open while quietly carrying an overwhelming burden-- I have fallen behind on rent. Almost a year behind.
I didn’t speak about it because I believed I could fix it on my own. I worked longer hours. I sacrificed personally. I delayed paying myself. I tried to protect my staff from feeling the weight of what I was carrying.
But the truth is, rising food costs, utilities, and slower sales have made it impossible to catch up alone.
This restaurant is not just a business to me. It’s my livelihood. It’s where my culture is shared. It’s where my employees earn a living. It’s the dream I built with faith, risk, and love.
Right now, I am fighting to prevent losing everything I’ve worked for.
I am raising funds to help pay down the overdue rent, stabilize our operations, and give us a real chance to recover. This support would allow us to breathe again, to focus on rebuilding and thriving, instead of constantly surviving.
If you can’t donate, sharing this means just as much.
This is one of the most humbling moments of my life, but I still believe in what we’ve built. I still believe in this community. And I’m not ready to give up.
From my heart, thank you for standing with us.
With gratitude,
Pamela
