The North of Scotland Kart Club has been hit hard in the past year by the consequences of the weather and sea damage. Over the years the club has paid out large sums of money on the sea defences but unfortunately the damage this time is outwith our budget.
The track was formed in 1972, it is the furthest North track in the UK and has built up a membership and track that is used by local clubs and private hires. The club is a great stepping stone for young people, teenagers and adults wishing to get into motor sports and has had the likes of David Coulthard and Suzie Wolff among the karters at the club.
There are only 4 Kart tracks in Scotland, Golspie is 118 miles North of the next nearest track at Boyndie. Without the track, people living in the Highlands wishing to get into motorsport would have to travel a minimum of an 8 hour round trip. This added to the cost of racing wouldn't make it possible for a lot of people and would see a further decline in the Scottish entrants for motorsport.
We need your financial support to carry out the work to repair the track to allow us to carry on being a viable track that will continue to give our young people access to motorsport.
The money will initially be spent on sea and flood defence. We will post on social media progress photos and how the money is being spent.
Thank you for your support.
