Help Save our Tennis Program! We Need YOU!
Donation protected
My name is Wynter. I am a freshman in High School in Woodstock, CT. I have been playing tennis since I was 3 years old. On behalf of my fellow and future teammates, and all of the children in the Woodstock community, we need your help to save our tennis program. Our school has fallen on financial hardship. We were informed that we have less than 4 weeks to raise $20,000 in order for the boys and girls tennis program this season to happen at our school.
We are heartbroken. We have less than a month to save the tennis program in Woodstock. If we do not raise this money, we will not have a tennis program.
We are willing to do whatever it takes. We are freshman, sophomores, and juniors that have invested in developing our skills. We are seniors that are completing our college applications with tennis as a deciding factor in scholarships. Tennis for us is a sport that is a community and an extended family. I have been practicing with my teammates here in Woodstock for many years. What I have personally learned in that time is no matter how many sports I participate in, tennis is the one that feels like home to me. I know my teammates feel the same. This is evident as many of the students that have graduated high school return from college on their school breaks. They come to practice with us and help us build our skills and confidence.
Tennis has become a safe space for us. People forget that our generation lost 2 years of socialization and tennis to the pandemic. We did not have the ability to change that, but we do have the ability to save our tennis program!
There is power in numbers and in good people. Please help us to save our tennis program. There are many kids depending on you. No contribution is too small. If everyone gives a little, it will mean A LOT.
We believe in our community, and we believe that together we can save the program for this year AND come together to solve the long term challenges of building new tennis courts. These funds will go to transportation and to set up a non-profit organization. The balance will serve as a base for investment in our courts.
