My name is Dakota and my sister is Savannah. Our dog is a 9-year-old gentle giant who came into our lives in December 2024. Savannah and I rescued him from an abusive household, where he was facing a scheduled euthanasia simply because they wanted to get rid of him. He was given away for free, and although Savannah was the one who brought him home, he quickly became not just her dog, but mine and our whole family’s as well. Now, he lives with us while we both attend FSU, and he’s truly our best friend—always ready for love and cuddles, and the sweetest boy you could ever meet.
Savannah and I are both very independent and more than capable of taking care of and providing for our dog. We fully support ourselves financially and have always made sure he has everything he needs. However, recently we noticed a lump on him that started growing in the fall. After getting him checked, we received the heartbreaking news that he has sarcoma cancer. The surgery he needs is very expensive, and this unexpected medical emergency is more than we can handle alone. Although, with the surgery the vet says he’s so healthy, he’ll have a good few more years !
The funds raised will go directly toward his surgery and any follow-up care he needs. We can’t imagine losing him just because we couldn’t afford the treatment. He’s our life, and we are his. Any support, no matter how small, would mean the world to us and help us save our sweet boy. Thank you so much for considering a donation to help keep our family together.
