Help Save Our Home from Squatters, Avoid Eviction

Every morning during our walks, we would encounter a homeless woman who always seemed sweet and cheerful. One stormy day, we offered her shelter and made the mistake of letting her stay in our home. Now, we're facing eviction and condemnation of our house due to her and her boyfriend's refusal to leave.

As a shut-in, I didn't realize how bad the situation was getting until we received a notice from the police about the garbage piling up in the back yard. We tried to evict the squatters, but they always refused to leave. To make matters worse, my elderly mother, who always dealt with them, recently suffered a hip fracture and is now in the hospital.

With my mother's health on the line and the threat of losing our home, we have no choice but to take immediate action. We are complying with the city's demands and beginning to clean up the garbage, but the process is costly, and we're struggling to cover the expenses.

We're only surviving on my mother's social security check each month, and it's barely enough to make ends meet, let alone pay for the fines, legal fees, and other expenses we're now facing. We're reaching out to the community for help, as we don't know what else to do or who else to turn to.

Fines: $300 - We've already paid these but we're living on social security and they're cutting into other expenses.
