First and foremost, we covet your prayers for better health.
Out of desperation and a sincere need, we made the tough decision to ask for financial assistance.
As some of you know, we have been dealing with debilitating health issues. Steven has battled ulcerative colitis and ongoing back and hip problems and related surgeries for years. After years as a mechanic, he finally had to give it up. He truly enjoyed his trade. He had very accommodating employers, and for that, we are grateful. They knew that he might be able to work for days to weeks but then have to take some time off to rest and recuperate. In other words, his work was hit and miss. He has attempted other vocations, but his body will just not cooperate. As of now, he is searching for something he can do.
Now, the kicker. Heather was the breadwinner for the family of five, but because of bouts with COVID and related health issues, she is no longer able to work. Heather has been out of work for a little over a year. Our families have helped tremendously, but quite frankly, they are tapped out.
When in this situation, one throws pride out the door and just asks for help. We are struggling to keep the house and the utilities paid. We are pursuing disability, but that is a long process.
Our family just wants some peace of mind.
