Please Help Us Save Our Home After Unthinkable Loss
I never imagined I would be in a position where I would have to ask for help like this—but today, I am humbly reaching out to my community, friends, family, and even kind strangers, because my children and I are facing the loss of our home.
My husband and I were together for over 17 years. He was my everything—my best friend, my soulmate, my business partner, and the person I built my life with. We shared a loving, close marriage and worked side by side, intentionally choosing to work from home so we could be full-time parents as well as full-time providers.
We moved from California to Florida with almost nothing—just a backpack, a suitcase, a seven-month pregnancy, and two babies under two years old. Through hard work, faith, and perseverance, we built a life from the ground up. By the grace of God, we were able to purchase our home in 2018. It became the place where our family grew, healed, and felt safe.
On January 27, 2023, my husband passed away.
At that time, I had a career and was the primary breadwinner, though we still relied on his income. We were stable. We were comfortable. And then everything changed overnight.
His death shattered my world in ways I still struggle to put into words. I had no support from his family—instead, my children and I were ostracized and tormented during the most vulnerable time of our lives. I had to plan his funeral alone. I had to pick up his body alone. I had to navigate widowhood, grief, and motherhood without a safety net.
What made this even harder is that I had already experienced unimaginable loss. In 2015, I lost my mother, father, and sister within just three months of each other. I somehow pushed through that tragedy—but losing my husband was a breaking point I could not survive without falling apart.
By August of 2023, I suffered a complete nervous breakdown.
For nearly two years, I was struggling mentally and emotionally just to survive. During that time, my life unraveled financially. I lost my job. Bills fell behind. And eventually, my mortgage went into default.
Today, I am facing foreclosure.
If I cannot come up with the back pay on my mortgage, my children and I will lose our home within 30 days.
This home is everything we have left.
I am the mother of three special-needs children—two who are developmentally delayed and one who is autistic. They are not ready for the instability or trauma of losing their home. The mental strain of homelessness would be devastating for them—and honestly, for me, it feels unbearable.
One of my children is my niece. When my sister passed away, her daughter was only 11 years old and witnessed her mother’s death. I raised her as my own from that moment forward. Losing this home wouldn’t just feel like failing myself—it would feel like failing my sister and putting her daughter through another life-altering trauma.
I am finally starting to come back to life. I have found work. I am trying—every single day—to get back on my feet. But without help right now, everything I am rebuilding will collapse before it has a chance to stand.
I am not asking anyone to carry me.
I am asking for help so I can stand.
No one person has to give a large amount. Even a small donation—when combined with others—can save our home and give my family the chance to heal, stabilize, and move forward.

Keep us in your prayers
Your kindness could be the reason my children don’t lose the only place that feels safe to them. It could be the reason we are able to rebuild instead of starting over with nothing.
Thank you for reading our story. Thank you for your compassion. And thank you—truly—for any help you can offer.
With gratitude,
