This is our beloved 9 year old kitty, Glimmer. We got her 9 years ago exactly back in April 2016 when I was 13. Glimmer was a gift to me after my childhood cat got sick when she was 6. I never thought I’d be able to bond with another cat, until her. We have a bond like no other. We’ve been obsessed with each other since the beginning. She has been with me through some extremely difficult challenges; I got sick with an autoimmune disease just a year after bringing her home and am still battling it. She has always been there. Normally she never leaves me alone. She always wants to be with me, until now.
Glimmer stopped eating recently. We took her to the vet and she was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection, a liver infection and diabetes. If she doesn’t start eating, either she’s hospitalized with intensive care or we lose her. We can’t afford to hospitalize her right now. Not only do we normally struggle financially as a single parent household with two chronically ill members, but just back in February our dog was sick with an infection for an entire month. We had to take on the bills for five different medications, three appointments, a urinalysis and scans. I am at a loss for what to do so I’m making this is out of desperation, I don’t even know if anyone will see it. I don’t have much reach, but if you do see this just sharing it would mean the world to us. The effect this has already had on us physically cannot be overstated. Mental health affects physical health so losing her would truly destroy us. Thank you ❤️
