Last week, we received the heartbreaking news that our beautiful boy Diego has been diagnosed with aggressive soft tissue sarcoma. The only chance for the best outcome is amputation of his leg and removal of the other masses.

Diego is only 7 years old – still so young, full of energy, love, and life. He is not just a dog to us; he is family. He has grown up alongside our children, been there through our happiest and hardest moments, and is truly a best friend to us all. The thought of losing him when there is still hope is devastating.

Unfortunately, with the rising cost of living, we are struggling to cover the overwhelming medical bills. As a parent, the hardest thing I can imagine is looking into my children’s eyes and telling them that we couldn’t help Diego simply because of money.

To all the animal lovers out there – you know that pets aren’t “just pets.” They are loyal companions, protectors, comforters, and unconditional sources of love. Diego deserves the chance to keep living the joyful, loving life he has always given us.
