Help save Oreo the Angel Kitty!

Hi, my name is Amanda, human mom to Oreo, my 3 year old boy kitty. Oreo was rushed to the emergency room at the vet hospital on Monday morning July 7th where they discovered a urethral blockage, not allowing him to pass urine. They had to immediately sedate him, insert a catheter, and drain the bladder, which was full of blood. The situation has been quite dire as his kidneys were starting to shut down. He is making progress, and is kept comfortable on painkillers, although the vets said progress is much slower than they would like. His kidney function is still quite poor which means they cannot give him anti-inflammatory medication for his bladder yet. He has had to remain in the hospital all week with the catheter in place and on IV fluids. As of now, they are still unsure when he will recover and when I might be able to bring him home. They told me his kidneys are damaged and he will require special food if and when I bring him home.

I would be so grateful for any amount of financial support to help Oreo, if you are able to provide something. I know that donating money can be really challenging for many of us, so any amount you might be able to spare would be immensely appreciated. I try to avoid asking for help like this because I find it embarrassing, but I am a teacher and the financial burden of his hospitalization is more than I can handle on my own.
