Nina Ellis has spent her life caring for others as a dedicated RN and single mother of three children ages 11, 15, and 19. She was working hard to build a better future, balancing school while pursuing her dream of becoming an anesthesiologist, when everything came to a tragic halt! In November 2025, just before her 40th birthday, Nina suffered a severe Left MCA ischemic stroke at only 39 years old, the worst stroke there is! She turned 40 in December, but instead of celebrating she was fighting the same fight she is fighting now!

Nina underwent emergency brain surgery after dangerous swelling forced doctors to remove part of her skull to save her life. She is now living with global aphasia, meaning she cannot speak clearly or understand language to full capacity and right hemiplegia, leaving the entire right side of her body paralyzed. While she fights to regain basic abilities, her family is facing a serious crisis. Her short term disability ends this April, leaving her with no income. She is dangerously delinquent on her mortgage and bills! Without immediate help, Nina and her children risk losing the only home they have ever known as their own. She has not yet been approved for a caregiver, and therapy is limited to just two days a week, which is not enough for recovery. With her car repossessed and no financial support, covering basic needs like utilities, medical supplies, and food has become extremely difficult.

We are raising funds to help save Nina’s home and support her recovery. This will go toward catching up on her mortgage, covering medical expenses, providing therapy equipment for her home, and helping care for her children during this time.
